Virusrescue – not Anti-spyware : Anti-Spyware

Best Registry Cleaner

I would like to tell you a bit about VirusRescue, but before I do so I need to tell you a bit about myself so that you will feel secure in the knowledge I am about to share with you. I have been involved with computers for over 20 years. I have done building and repair, tech support, programming, and IT (Information Technology). I am a Certified Microsoft Professional, which means I have been trained and certified to work on Windows machines and networks.

VirusRescue is not the anti-spyware, anti-hacker, anti-worm, anti-trojan, and anti-backdoor software it claims to be. In fact VirusRescue is a spyware program that makes its way onto your computer through either the Zlob or Vundo trojan. These trojans get on your computer by pretending to be an ActiveX or video codec.

Once on your computer you will be flooded with pop ups telling you that your computer is either infected or under attack, that only VirusRescue can save you from this threat to your computer, and you should get the full version. You will be provided with a scan that gives you false results at their web page. If you do fall for the ploy and download and install the full version you have just put even more spyware, adware, and malware on your computer. Not only that but you have just given scammers access to your credit card and personal information.

Removal of VirusRescue is tricky. Most anti-spyware programs only remove 80-90% of the infection. This would have been ok in earlier years, but today’s spyware has become more advanced and has ways to fight removal. Today’s spyware programs will reinstall themselves if you miss any file, and VirusRescue is no different. That also means that manually removing the infection is a time consuming process, sometimes having to be repeated several times because a file was missed.

There is hope of removing VirusRescue the first time. There is a new product out on the market called SpyZooka. This program was released in January of 2008 after the creator had a run in with spyware similar to VirusRescue. BluePenguin, the company that created SpyZooka, was founded on the principle that no less than 100% would do. So with SpyZooka you get a 100% removal guarantee. I’ve used SpyZooka and found it to be a good program that removes all of the infection. I can’t tell you how much time and frustration SpyZooka has saved me.

I know that you may think I’m just peddling SpyZooka and that the program may not be as great as I am saying. That is perfectly ok. SpyZooka has won many awards for producing such an effective user friendly anti-spyware program. SpyZooka won Tucows.com’s coveted 5 cow rating, and a place in WUGNET’s Hall of Fame.
