You’ve probably never even heard of Antivirus 2010, or any other anti-spyware program for that matter. If you aren’t familiar with spyware and what it can do to your pc, you really need to read this. No one is safe from these parasites, and being prepared is essential.
So, what exactly is spyware and what does it do? This is a program that, once placed on your pc, tracks what you do. The websites you visit, files you download, personal business account information – all of this can be tracked by spyware programs, which can be very dangerous. It can cause your computer to crash, and you can only imagine what having all of your personal information exposed could cause.
How do you know if you are infected? If your computer shows signs of running very slowly, you begin being bombarded with pop-ups, or your home page changes, you may be infected. Freezing up and noticing a tool bar in your browser that you didn’t have before are also signs.
Programs like Antivirus 2010 pop up on your screen out of the blue. These rogue programs will tell you that you have threats, viruses or other infections in the hopes to make you panic. If you do, and download their software, you are going to have more problems on your hands. Simply put, don’t do it. Avoid pop-ups and any screens that come up wanting you to click or download anything.
Where does spyware come from? It can come from downloading software, visiting questionable or unknown websites, and other sources. Sometimes it will show up even if you have done nothing to cause it. Be wary of any sites that you visit while online that aren’t trusted, or that you aren’t familiar with.
These rogue anti-spyware programs must be removed from your pc as soon as possible. They sometimes install themselves on your computer, and place the same trojans and other viruses on your system that they claim to get rid of. You will usually get messages asking if you want to download their program, so that it can perform a check on your computer and rid it of the potential threats and viruses. If you fall for it, they will take your money and you will have more trojans, viruses and malware than you had to begin with.
So, are there trusted anti-spyware programs? Yes, there are many that work. There are probably even more rogue software programs like Antivirus 2010 that want to cause more harm to your pc and take your money. These fakes will place even more malware and infections on your pc, and could literally make your system crash. Stay away, and never click on anything you didn’t search for yourself!
What should you do if you are infected with spyware? Search for a reputable software that others recommend. There are some highly rated programs out there that are reliable and safe to use. Antivirus 2010 is vicious, malicious, and NOT something you want to deal with, so consider yourself warned.
